FDIP Criteria
FDIP Criteria considered for the 2008 FDIP Grants Program
FY 2008 awards will be based on acceptance of proposals which support but are not limited to the following initiatives:
- Projects which build across disciplines utilizing an innovative use of technology either in the classroom or online delivery.
- Proposals which enhance teaching utilizing technology beyond the boundaries of traditional learning systems
- Proposals which develop new methodologies, standards, or practices when teaching with technology.
- Proposals which offer a creative approach to instructional delivery which can serve as a role model for other instructors.
- Proposals which reach out into the community and help to offer solutions to industry.
Of particular interest to the reviewing committee will be proposals that support cross-curriculum modules; proposals which explore the use of portfolios for students; proposals which propose to integrate technology in courses to advance the goals of the QEP, especially those aligned with developing a “research-doing” culture among our undergraduates; demonstration projects to test potential solutions in the real-world environment; and proposals that address the effective use of digital media in course delivery such as, but not limited to, podcasting, use of interactive student response systems (e-clickers), video/audio conferencing, and digital storytelling; and proposals which address the use of hybrid delivery.
Wikis and blogs are being used by educators to create interactivity and develop communication in courses. The committee will be interested in proposals that address wikis and blogs and how they are being used to address community in the online environment.
