F.D.I.P. 2007 Grant Recipients

The following faculty received grant awards from the Faculty Development Initiative Program for F.Y. 2007.

Mary Dawson - HRM ($4,000)

Develop POS computer-based training program for online delivery

Peter Gingiss - CLASS/ENGLISH ($4,000)

Develop English 4322 into hybrid by using podcast technology to deliver material

Shankar Chellam - ENGINEERING / CIVIL ($4,000)

Develop lectures in a digitized format for use by students

Xiaoping Cong - CLASS / HISTORY ($4,000)

Development of a photodata base to use as supplemental online resources with Chinese History course

Donna Stokes - NSM / Physics ($4,000)

This project will develop mini-labs to run on computers for students to use

Janis Hutchinson - CLASS/Anthropology ($4,000)

The project aim is to develop a hybrid course and to create electronic course material for online delivery

Christina Sisk- CLASS/MCL ($4,000)

This project will develop podcasts for film delivery

Judith Steinhoff - CLASS / ART ($4,000)

Editing of images to digitize for use online and in podcasting

Lorraine Stock - CLASS / ENGLISH ($4,000)

Develop electronic material and podcasts for English 2315

Xiaohong Wen - CLASS / MCL ($4,000)

Using Chinese audio question sets digitized to deliver exercises online

Jaime Kovach - COT / ILT ($25,000)

Creation of scenarios for students to play in class; students will develop podcast for delivery in 3 ILT courses

Sara McNeil - COE / CUIN ($25,000)

Funding is requested to create MyHistory website and space for student e-portfolios on COE server

William Monroe - Honor College ($25,000)

Development of 5 hybrid courses to be delivered electronically

Paula Rhode - COE/HHP ($25,000)

Integrate technology (SRS, hybrid digital media) into 5 HHP courses

Li Sun - ENGINEERING / Mechanical ($25,000)

Integrate the use of Tablet PC's awarded by HP to use with students with teaching and student work

Tyler Priest - BAUER / MANA ($24,600)

Identification of resources available for Globilization area of interest and to create a repository of these resources; to create a public site of the resources and to create WIKI's for student use

Y.L. Mo -College of Engineering/ CIVIL ($25,000)

Develop labs-to-go kits and moudles to support the labs. These will be integrated into the Engineering courses.

Max Kurz - COE / HHP ($25,000)

Developing podcasts for student use. Will develop presentations from teleconferencing with outside guest lecturers.

Tiravat Assavapokee- ENGINEERING / INDE ($25,000)

Development of real-time interactive web-based simulation software

Heidi Bragg - PHARMACY ($24,990)

Production of training videos
